Steve Schaumberger *

Steve has been in the financial services industry for over 20 years. Steve assists entrepreneurs and business owners in developing strategies to accumulate, conserve and transfer personal wealth, serving as an advocate to obtain the most appropriate, cost-effective insurance-based vehicles. As part of this process, he works with clients and their advisors in coordinating and structuring plans for wealth creation, executive compensation and business succession. Over the past several years, he has developed a number of proprietary programs which enable individuals who qualify medically and financially to obtain long-term wealth transfer and estate planning benefits, with the goal of realizing significant value for themselves and their families.

In addition to working with individuals on their wealth transfer objectives, Steve works extensively with companies, typically which have between 500 and 10,000 employees, to analyze, manage and control their healthcare costs. Over the past several years, Steve has developed proprietary plan design and cost modeling software, claims reports, prescription drug analyses and provider evaluations. These tools, in tandem with JR Katz's contractual, financial, and claims management efforts, have enabled both privately held and publicly traded clients to limit their cost increases from 30% to 50% less than market.

Steve has authored a number of articles, including Insurance Arbitrage, Creating a Framework to Control Medical Care Costs, and Seeing the Forest Through the Trees: A Look at Turnover Costs on a Company's Bottom Line. He holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Michigan and an M.B.A. in Finance from Harvard University.
